How have increases to conditionality been communicated to UC claimants?
Dear Department for Work and Pensions,
The Administrative Earnings Threshold has been changed three times. The first in September 2022, the second in January 2023, with a third set for Autumn 2023 or April 2024. AET is set to double from around 9 hours to 18 hours per week and will affect 424,000 claimants according to DWP figures.
The in-work progression offer is to be made mandatory for 600,000 working claimants and 700,000 'lead carers of children' now have to meet a work coach more regularly. These changes can be found in the Autumn and Spring budgets. These are significant changes that will increase conditionality for up to 1.7 million claimants.
Please share any letters that have been sent or any electronic communication the DWP has sent to claimants about these changes. If there has been no direct communication have you created any leaflets or videos? Please share those too. If you have done none of these how is DWP expecting claimants to learn about the changes?
Yours faithfully,
Andy Mitchell
