How does Dounreay address green issues
Dear Dounreay Site Restoration Limited,
It would appear that, like Highlands and Islands Enterprise, have no respect for the environment, or the local community, despite their socio economic fund which is almost impossible to get money from, at least for the North Highland Way.
Please provide the number of green projects you have funded over the last six years, the amount given, and to whom.
This includes Venture North, funded by Dounreay to oppose a private developer's work, as a "Green Tourism" advisor.
Yours faithfully,
Tina Marshall

Dear Communications,
This methodology has been necessary as no response is ever received from Dounreay except "your comments are noted".
Yours sincerely,
Tina Marshall
Dear Communications,
I used to have a warning message on my web site warning about the firing range etc. This was removed when Dounreay refused funding. One would hope that the group concerned will be more sensible this time. Once the funding has been received it will be put back. As I have been asked to speak at the Edinburgh Festival next month, my web site will be even higher profile than ever.
Yours sincerely,
Tina Marshall

Dear Tina,
We do not have records of projects defined as +IBg-green projects+IBk- as it is not a category Dounreay utilises in the management of its socio economic activity. Dounreay funds projects using 5 socio economic themes: sustainable incomes, resilient economies, thriving communities, protecting and improving our environment, and new social ideas.
Socio economic support provided by Dounreay dating back to 2017/18 can be found at the following link: https://www.gov.uk/government/publicatio...
Details of funding for Venture North can be found within the 2021/22 Socio Economic Annual Review. The latest Socio Economic Annual Review for 2022/23 is nearing completion and will be publicly available through the above link shortly.

Dear Communications,
One would have thought that the grant applications made in 2014 covered all of the categories.
Annotation made about Dounreay setting public money against private money.

Dounreay continually pit public money against private money.
1. The Green Tourism scheme has been given to Venture North to do, even though they were certainly aware of the inward investors scheme. This has made it impossible to sell the Good Travel Guide scheme, which is accredited, which the Green Tourism scheme is not. The Good Travel Guide is cheaper, thereby making the businesses pay more.
2. The Northern Pilgrims Way brochure was funded by Dounreay, and covers part of the North Highland Way area, and gives information about the John O Groats Trail but not the North Highland Way, giving the Associated Northern Trails a competitive advantage, when the investor has already spent £80000 on the project. There is a separate charity for the John o Groats Trail and Friends of the Northern Trail. Why would that be, especially as the North Highland Way started long before that was funded by CNSRP, now Focus North.

Dear Tina,
I do not understand what you mean about +ACI-Annotation made+ACI-.
If you have a further question please phrase as a question and not as a statement, as Dounreay is only obliged to respond to questions.

Dear Communications,
Dounreay is obliged to answer any questions asked. However, as you say, the last part was a statement, so not FOI.
When organisations will not answer, it usually means they have something to hide.
Yours sincerely,
Tina Marshall

HIE input positively to the consultation document, then renege on the idea. Not surprising really, as the same person is in charge.
