How are you monitoring and protecting data relating to patients being struck off by their GP Surgeries?

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, NHS Digital should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Health and Social Care Information Centre,

"Patients List" held by GP Surgeries.

A) Do you have a record of how many UK citizens are NOT registered with a GP Surgery right now?

B) If so, what is the figure as of today?
C) What were the statistics for 2010, 2011, 20122, 2013, 2014 and 2015 in ?

D) Are you able to keep a record of which GP Surgeries in Suffolk have "struck off" or removed the most patients from their NHS Patients List since 2013?

E) If so, since 2013, which 100 GP Surgeries struck off the most NHS patients from their Patients List?

F) Do you keep a record of the reasons for a patient being struck off from a GP Surgery?

For example, a hypothetical scenario in order to bring clarity to this FOI;

A patient's solicitor acts on the instructions of an insurance company, for example Direct Line and makes a Subject Access Request. After 2 months, the solicitor lodges a complaint about the records still being withheld from their client. The records are released and then the patient is struck off with only a seven day warning provided.

G) Is there a system within your department to ensure that the data behind the reasons for striking a patient off are factually correct?

H) Is there a system in place for ensuring that GP's are not acting in malfeasance against vulnerable citizens?

Focused FOI; Victoria Surgery, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

I) How many patients have Victoria Surgery, Victoria Street struck off their records since 2009?
J) Please could you bring clarity to this FOI by outlining the statistics for each month.

If you require any further data or feel that I could ask for the data in a much better way, please do not hesitate to ask me.

Yours faithfully,

Fiona Watts

Dear Health and Social Care Information Centre,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Health and Social Care Information Centre's handling of my FOI request 'How are you monitoring and protecting data relating to patients being struck off by their GP Surgeries?'.

COMPLAINT ONE
I provided clear bullet points when I presented my FOI. Therefore, in respect of UK data laws, you need to clearly respond to each bullet point. If you fail to do this, then I will have to consider whether I progress the Misconduct In Public Office against you.

COMPLAINT TWO
I am genuinely stunned.

Your style of response to my FOI suggests a cover up, a lack of over by your department, NHS, CQC, Monitor and The Ombudsman as to the operations and conduct of GP Surgeries in the UK. Is this the case?

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/h...

Dear HSCIC Enquiries,

‘The HSCIC, Population, Geography and International Statistics - Information Services only
publishes data on the numbers of patients registered at a GP Practice in England; therefore is unable
to help with any of the questions above.’

But three months ago, the NHS suggested I contact you?
Here you are; https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/h...

I quote the NHS here;
"The information you have requested may be available from the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC). You can contact the HSCIC by following the link below".

So between all of you, from the CQC to the NHS, from NHS Choices to Monitor; even The Parliamentary Health Service ombudsman seem clueless as to how many GP's have struck off their patients or the reasons behind their actions?

In light of the fact that you have a Duty Of Care, unsure as to how this blind spot by the NHS is allowed? Who is responsible for this willful refusal to collect and monitor the failure to best monitor GP's conduct?

For example, a GP will strike off a patient after a solicitor complains that they continue to withhold the patient's medical records from their lawyer, barrister and the patient.

Please clarify who in "power" at the NHS holds the office for overseeing the conduct of GP's?

Yours concerned,

Fiona Watts

Dear HSCIC Enquiries,

All I know is this; you answers are part of the costly farce of cover up.

"May I take this opportunity to" ..... point out that there is a reason for your refusal to cooperate with my bullet point questions. Its the same reason why the ICO, PHSO,ICE,CQC & MONITOR are allowed to be useless too.

You seem to be complicit in covering up the FACT that nobody is best monitoring GP Surgeries in the UK?

Yours sincerely,

Fiona Watts

Oh deary me?

So much to read but I am STILL utterly clueless as to why NHS England & 3 other NHS sites all directed my FOI inquiry in this direction?

I've been bounced all over the place.

Just double checking;
a) Can you clarify whether this department a non public or private sector department?

b) Who line manages the Health and Social Care Information Centre

Many thanks for your continued cooperation with my genuine inquiries
