How are funding decisions are made

The request was partially successful.

Dear Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner,

Thank you very much for your prompt response to a recent request.

I would be interested to understand how the PCC makes decisions about funding and allocation of resources are made if they do not have have information about suspected criminality within the County.

Yours faithfully,

Jamie

Morris, Claire 8199,

Dear Jamie,

Thank you for contacting the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Warwickshire.

In response to your question, how does the Commissioner make decisions regarding allocation of funding. The Commissioner has two allocations of funding, firstly commissioned services. This is subject to a rigorous procurement process, ensuring compliance with lawful processes and evaluation, scoring the bidders responses. Specifications are based on the outcomes of Needs Assessments , link to our website https://www.warwickshire-pcc.gov.uk/your... for report findings.

Secondly the Grants Scheme, an annual award which seeks to support initiatives that will reduce crime, support victims and make communities safer. Awards are made to applications which can demonstrate support for one or more of the ambitions of the Police and Crime Plan:

Fight crime and reduce reoffending
Deliver visible and effective policing
Keep people safe and reduce harm
Strengthen communities

All grant applications are subject to an evaluation process, based o the above priority areas ,scored and allocated based on suitability and terms and conditions https://www.warwickshire-pcc.gov.uk/gran...

I trust this answers your question.

Kind Regards

Claire
