I would be grateful if you could provide me with the following under the terms of the FOI Act.

1. The number of properties owned by the council or its wholly owned company Arch (Advance Northumberland) in each of the 67 Council Wards
2. The total income from housing stock owned by Arch (Advance Northumberland) and the council in total and by council ward
3. The total expenditure on housing stock (excluding purchasing or building new properties) owned by Arch (Advance Northumberland) and the council in total and by council ward

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT REQUEST

I refer to your Freedom of Information request in relation to properties
owned by the council.

Right of Access

Section 1(1) of the Act provides any person making a request for
information to a public authority is entitled.

(a) to be informed in writing by the public authority whether it holds
information of the description specified in the request (which Section
1(6) of the Act designates as the "duty to confirm or deny"), and

(b) if that is the case, to have that information communicated to him.

The right is to obtain access to the information itself and not to the
document or record which contains it.

The Act creates a general right of access to information held by public
authorities subject to various exemptions.

Northumberland County Council confirms that it holds the information you
have requested, please see the following information in response.

Q.1 The number of properties owned by the council or its wholly owned
company Arch (Advance Northumberland) in each of the 67 Council Wards

A.1 Housing:  Information on the number of properties by ward is not
held.  Properties by former district council ward is a follows:

Blyth - 6708

Alnwick - 1840

Q.2 The total income from housing stock owned by Arch (Advance
Northumberland) and the council in total and by council ward

A.2 Housing:  For 2017/18 the total income was £31,324.268
(Northumberland County Council)

Q.3 The total expenditure on housing stock (excluding purchasing or
building new properties) owned by Arch (Advance Northumberland) and the
council in total and by council ward

A.3 Housing:  The capital expenditure on the housing stock to date is
 £2,004,215.95

This is geographically split between the Blyth Area and the Alnwick Area
as follows:-

Blyth Area - £1,420,371.92

Alnwick Area - £583,844.03

The total spend on repairs and maintenance in total for this financial
year to June is £1,931,390. - This includes our void property spend The
current system cannot record expenditure by ward as we deliver the service
to the whole housing stock.

Although we have not received a response to the clarification request we
sent on the 24th July 2018, we forward the information from the council
that has been provided in response to your request. A separate FOI will
need to be submitted to Arch for their figures
