Dear Sir/Madam,
FOI request: FOI-1291
Thank you for your request dated 02/02/2024
Our response is as follows:
How long does it normally take to be listed or register in the housing
register after application made?
According to the Allocations Policy Section 3.1
The Council operates an on-line housing application service. On submission
of the on-line application, the Council will verify the details and
confirm registration.
However, registration of housing applications is currently taking between
six to eight months due to huge number of applications received.
Can you provide information of applicants who applied in February 2022?
We confirm we hold information about applicants who applied in February
2022. However, this information is being withheld in accordance with
section 40(2) of the Act, as the information constitutes third party
data. Section 40(2) provides that personal data about third parties is
exempt information if one of the conditions set out in section 40(3) is
satisfied. Under the Act disclosure of this information would breach the
fair processing principle contained in the Data Protection Act, where it
would be unfair to the applicants if we were to disclose this information
without their consent. Also there is a reasonable expectation from the
applicants that this information would be confidential.
However, we can confirm that 416 applications were submitted February
2022.
And how long did they wait to be registered in your housing register
please?
Out of the 416 applications received, some applications were registered
within one month, two months and some waited 10 months to be registered.
If you have any queries about this correspondence, please contact me,
quoting the reference number above.
If you are not satisfied with our response to your request, you can ask
for an Internal Review. Internal review requests must be submitted within
two months of the date of receipt of the response to your original
request. If you wish to do this, please contact us in writing, setting
out why you are dissatisfied.
If you are not satisfied with the outcome of the Internal Review, you may
apply directly to the Information Commissioner (ICO) for a decision.
Generally, the ICO cannot make a decision unless you have exhausted the
Internal Review procedure provided by the Council. You can contact the ICO
by emailing [1][email address], or by post at Customer Contact,
Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow,
SK9 5AF.
