Housing plans - Yarnfield/Eccleshall
Dear Stafford Borough Council,
I have learned about council plans to purchase several hundred hectares of land between Yarnfield and Eccleshall for housing. This includes the former ordnance factory and surrounding countryside.
I'd like to know the number of houses planned, what infrastructure is being considered to support them, and the timescale for the project.
By timescale I mean key milestones like when the plans will be made public and open for consultation.
I'd like to see copies of any maps drawn up reflecting the nature and scale of the development and the exact geographical area affected.
I'd like to know the estimated cost of purchasing the land and all plans the council has for the land once purchased.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Yours faithfully,
H Stokes

Dear Ms Stokes,
The answer to your Freedom of Information request is that Stafford Borough
Council has no plans to purchase several hundred hectares of land between
Yarnfield and Eccleshall.
As part of the review of the Local Plan, the Council has begun the Call
for Sites process which invites landowners to put forward development
sites for potential inclusion in the refreshed Plan for Stafford Borough.
There has been a bid submitted to Government for money to develop land in
this area. At this stage the specifics you request in terms of housing
numbers and infrastructure are not known.
Our press office is issuing a press release to local media, a copy of
which is enclosed for your information.
Best wishes,
Michelle
