Housing list relocation to Devon

tim todd made this Freedom of Information request to Manchester City Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear Manchester City Council,
It is rumoured that your council, or one in the Manchester area, may be considering sending some of the people who may be on any of your housing lists, to a new housing development in Devon, along the lines that many were moved from London to Milton Keynes in the 1990s and later.
Would you kindly confirm, or otherwise, whether or not there have been any discussions between any at Manchester City Council and any Devon authority concerning any such potential transfer of persons in or seeking public housing.
Perhaps you would be kind enough to advise what other authorities exist in your immediate area that might be called Manchester housing by those not familiar with the geography.
Thank You
Yours sincerely
Tim Todd
