Housing figures - Homes, benefits, & waiting list

Dear Tower Hamlets Borough Council,

All of these questions below are with regards to housing in the borough.

Please answer the following questions:

1. Please list for the past 10 years, the number of council properties owned by the council, dividing the figures for each year up into studio/bedsit, 1 bedroom, two bedroom etc

2. Please list for the past 10 years, the number of new-built council properties for each year, again dividing this up into studio/bedsit, 1 bedroom etc..

3. Please list for the past 10 years, the number of council properties sold, dividing these figures into studio/bedsit, 1 bed, 2 bed etc.

4. With regards to the above request (3.) please list year by year the total amount gathered for each type of property sold.

5. Please list for the past 10 years, the amount of rent gathered from council owned properties year by year.

6. Please list for the past 10 years, the number of housing benefit claims for each year for those living in council owned properties, and the end of year amount of housing benefit paid for those living in council owned properties throughout the year.

7. Please list for the past 10 years, the number of housing benefit claims made year by year for those living in Housing Association homes, dividing each year into the number of claimants by each named housing association.

8. With regards to the figures in the request above (7.), please list each years amount of housing benefit paid to each housing association, each year, including the years total figure for all housing associations.

9. Please list for the past 10 years, the number of housing benefit claims made year by year for those living in Private rented accommodation.

10. With regards to the figures in the request above (9.), please list each years total amount of housing benefit paid to the private sector landlords

11. Please list for the past 10 years the amount of council property buy-backs that have occured and the amount of money spent for this specific purpose each year. Please divide each figure into actual purchase cost, and also any other costs legal, fees etc

12. Finally, for the past 10 years, please list for each year the following,
a; the overall figure on the council's housing waiting list.
b; the overall figure of new applications to the housing waiting list.
c; the overall figure of successful applicants in receiving housing.
d; the overall figure for each type of application ie: studio/bedsit, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom etc etc..
