Dear Chris Daniel,

I am writing in response to your request for information, received 13th
October.

Yours sincerely,

DWP Central FoI Team

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,
Concerning your response dated 8th October, 2021 - Your Ref. FOI2021/73978.

Regarding clarification of " Please can you supply the number of requests by landlords ( broken down by sector for the Housing element of UC to be paid direct and for back payments, and secondly, for each of the last three years.
Concerning fulfilment of your obligation under Section 16 of the FOI, your not complying with such.
Let me simplify this.
How many requests for MPTL were there.
What was the number that were complied with, and in what timescale.

Regarding the sums of UC that were ' Incorrectly paid ' I'm asking for what amounts of rent were outstanding when the MPTL were requested, ( These amount must be provided as UC will not be paid usually ? until a claimant is in arrears of Two months . This is what I've termed, Incorrectly paid benefit - because Housing element is paid to a claimant for the purpose of funding their rent, not to be withheld or used for other purposes ) and what amounts were outstanding at the time the UC was paid direct to Landlord.
( The time delay of that leading to the 'incorrectly paid benefit is covered above ) is covered in my clarification above. )

Yours faithfully,

Chris Daniel
