Your request has now been considered and the information requested is below.

For last year 2019, 47.94% of private tenants had their Housing benefit paid directly to their landlord.

Criteria for having the housing benefit element paid directly to a landlord is:

Where the customer has 8 weeks or more rent arrears
Where it is unlikely the claimant will pay their rent
Where the claimant is deemed unable to manager their own affairs
Where the landlord is charging 8 weeks in advance as a result of the first tier tribunal Doncaster V Coventry CC
