Dear FOI,

Thank you for providing the attached information, it is most useful.

I just wanted to clarify your data to ensure that my clarification doesn’t change the data you have provided. Can I clarify that you have provided information for the number of individuals who are claiming housing benefit in Bed and Breakfast/Board and Lodging private accommodation (i.e. not owned by the council, housing associations or supported accommodation) and who have not been placed there by the council under homelessness duties?

Yours sincerely,

Rachel Yates

Dear Ms Yates,

Further to my email I have now received a response from the service where they confirmed the following:

"We can confirm that the data we provided only included customers who are/were claiming Housing Benefit in private bed and breakfast and/or board and lodging accommodation, and did not include any claimants who had been placed there under the Council's homeless prevention duties."

I hope this is of assist with your enquires and clarifies the position on our disclosure.
