Dear Information Governance,

Dear Information Governance,

You still have not replied within the statutory requirements. As you are required to have replied promptly, and as a maximum by July 7, and I have still not heard from you, I now require an internal
review. I do expect this matter to be replied to, and I am disappointed that yet another request to Nottingham City Council has not been responded to as required by statute.

Yours sincerely,

Peter Harris

Yours sincerely,

Peter Harris

Dear Glenn

Personal case reference IGO/11-8926.

I am sure that you will join me in disappointment that the City Council has not responded either promptly or within time limits to my request for information. Could you please chase this up, as it is over a month since I wrote to you, and you replied?

Yours sincerely,

Peter Harris

Information Governance, Nottingham City Council

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your email below and your previous email requesting an internal review. Unfortunately, as you have formally requested an internal review I am not confident that I am able chase this issue up for you on an informal basis. To do this would likely confuse matters and cause further delays to your response.

In the meantime, I have logged your request for an internal review and the information has been passed to Mrs Stephanie Pearson who has responsibility for conducting reviews within this authority.

Please ensure that you quote case reference IGO/11-9096 in any further communications regarding the review.

Sincerely,

Glenn E. Estes

Glenn,

I am disappointed that the City Council has such a poor reputation for responding to FoI request. I have received only acknowledgements, but no information of how my request will be handled. It does not help that your Political Leader is so disparaging of the process.

Can you tell me how long the internal review will take, and what involvement I will have in, or get from, that process?

Yours sincerely,

Peter Harris

Information Governance, Nottingham City Council

Dear Mr Harris,

The internal review process is governed by the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and a response should be sent to you within 20 working days of tomorrow's date.

As I understand it you have no direct involvement in the process beyond making the request as the review is one of how your case has been handled to date.

I am sorry I can not be of more immediate assistance.

Sincerely,

And so are normal FOI requests - but that doesn't bother NCC does it? NCC is well above the law of the land. Of course it takes additional time for Joco, Barker and whoever else to have their dirty little fingers raking through stuff. I'm actually starting to have a little sympathy for the FOI team.

Dear Information Governance,

Frankly, I do not think that this is good enough. I am beginning to doubt whether your Council is minded to respond as required by law. Can you let me know when my request will be dealt with, please?

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,

Peter Harris

Information Governance, Nottingham City Council

Dear Sir,

Unfortunately, I am unable to provide an estimated date for responses. The authority is currently dealing with a rise in the number of requests as well as a substantial backlog. Each case officer is endeavouring to provide responses within the statutory timescales but, where this has not been achieved are clearing the backlog as quickly as possible. I have therefore forwarded your concerns to the relevant officer.

Sincerely,

At what stage does Nottingham City Council's inability/refusal to keep to the law become a criminal matter? What redress have citizens got to find out 'WhatTheyKnow' when a Council has so abysmally failed to get respond lawfully?

Peter

Dear Information Governance,

How long is the internal review expected to take? You have now had over two months for this to take place and report. What is your expected timeline?
