Dear
Mr Goodkind,
Your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (“FOIA”). Our ref: 4403
Thank you for your request for information in relation to temporary accommodation. This has been
processed under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (“FOIA”), our response is below:
1) Does the Council currently operate any form of supplier framework for a. Temporary Accommodation- b.
Emergency Accommodation-
Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council (“HBBC”) do not operate a framework. Leicestershire County
Council operate a framework for providing hostel accommodation. HBBC have a 35 unit family hostel,
there are other voluntary hostels for single people throughout the County we are able to refer into. This
would be classed as temporary accommodation. We will use bed & breakfast for No Second Night Out,
single applicants that are not able to refer into a hostel and families until we have completed a risk
assessment.
2) If the Council does operate a supplier framework, please provide the supplier list a. Temporary
Accommodation- b. Emergency Accommodation-

a. Temporary Accommodation-
There is a service level agreement with Lawrence House and Action
Homeless that they prioritise Hinckley applicants first. b. Emergency Accommodation-
We will deal with any bed & breakfast establishment that will take our
clients unless they are not licensed, there is not a written agreement.
4) What are the rates council pay for providers with in the borough and outside the borough ( Example:
self-contained nightly rate, single/double/triple/quadruple room nightly rate)
a. Temporary Accommodation-
The average price for a room in the HBBC hostel is £55 per week, this
equates to £8 per night. The resident has to pay £18 per week charges in addition to this. b. Emergency Accommodation-
Bed & breakfast accommodation can vary depending on occupation at
that time. It can be around £50 per night for a single/ double room and around £75 to £100 per night for
a family room.
