Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Based on the Households below average income (HBAI) report for 2019/20 (derived from the Family Resources Survey) for the United Kingdom, please state for Social Rented Sector Tenant households only, the percentages of children affected by:

Whether the adults in that child’s household have the items and services in the material deprivation index affecting adults (9 items starting with Money to decorate home)

and

Whether the children have the items and services in the material deprivation index affecting children specifically (12 items starting with Outdoor space / facilities to play safely).

Please provide answers for each of the items in the format :
Has or have this / Would like this but cannot afford it / Don't want or need; doesn't apply.

Please send your reply in a PDF format. This is the only format in which I will be able to read the information.

Yours faithfully,

Paul Burnham

'Keep house warm - Would like this but cannot afford it' - (13 % of children)

This is likely to increase significantly next time the question is asked.

'Make savings of 10 pounds a month or more - Would like this but cannot afford it' (57% of children)

Much higher than I thought it would be.

Devastating information about the poverty affecting the children living in Social Renting households in the UK.

This is why we must oppose all rent and service charge increases, new homes rent regimes, higher rents such as 'London Affordable Rent', and higher rents resulting from demolition and redevelopment schemes.
