Dear Mr Nesbitt

I am writing in response to your request for information below and further to my email of the 26th May 2011. Please accept my apologies for the delay in our response

Please find attached copies of the register of gifts and hospitality with the detail, where held, requested below.

You will note that we have redacted the names of staff who received gifts with the exception of the Chief Executive and Corporate Directors. We have also redacted, where held, the name of the person supplying or offering the gift or hospitality (you will also note that the majority of the gifts received are from service users). Where the name of the company offering the gift is held this has been provided. This information has been redacted on the basis that the information is personal data. S40 (3) (a) (i) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) states that information is exempt from the requirements of the FOIA where the information is personal data and that disclosure of the data would amount to a breach of the Data Protection Act 1998. We are of the opinion that the disclosure of this information would amount to unfair processing and a breach of Principle 1 of the Data Protection Act 1998 and is therefore exempt from the requirements of S1 of the FOIA.

I trust this provides the information you are seeking

If you wish to discuss this matter please do not hesitate to contact me on the details below.
