Dear Sir/Madam
Thank you for your request made under the Freedom of Information Act.
Your request is fundamentally the same as your previous enquiry submitted
on 6^th February 2024 (our ref. 3568440), which asked for the following:
Under the FOI act please supply the authorities spending on public events,
hospitality events and associated corporate events that have been held
since Steve Rotherham took office, please supply the names of the venues
the suppliers and where the tenders for such events where displayed.
I would be grateful if the above could be supplied in legible spreadsheet
chronological order.
Please include any free hospitality given to councillors charities and
people both inside and outside the Liverpool city region.
This enquiry can be viewed on WhatDoTheyKnow.com at [1]this link, and was
refused in accordance with Section 12 of the Act as responding would
exceed the cost limit of £450 (18 hours of work). This decision was upheld
at internal review, and you were advised to that you could either reduce
the scope of your enquiry or escalate the matter to the Information
Commissioner. We heard nothing further on this and consider the request
closed.
Your latest request in fact expands the scope of your previous request;
you originally asked for costs since the Metro Mayor took office in May
2017, while you have now asked for all spending since the Combined
Authority was established in April 2014, over three years earlier.
Additional events will have also taken place since your previous enquiry
of almost a year ago, so your new request expands the timeframe by four
additional years.
Section 14(2) of the Act allows for a request to be refused if it is
identical or substantially similar to a previous enquiry and the previous
response is unlikely to have changed. The Information Commissioner’s
Office has published guidance on repeat requests, which can be found on
their website at [2]this link.
Your enquiry is therefore refused in accordance with Section 14(2) of the
Freedom of Information Act.
If you are dissatisfied with the handling of your request, you have the
right to ask for an internal review, which should be addressed to:
Louise Outram
Chief Legal Officer / Monitoring Officer
Liverpool City Region Combined Authority

If you are not content with the result of your internal review, you also
have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner, whose address
is
The Information Commissioner’s Office,
Wycliffe House,
Water Lane,
Wilmslow,
Cheshire SK9 5AF
