Hospital buildings
Hello,
I hope whoever is reading this is well. This is a FOI Request.
1) Please could you state the number of structural maintenance issues at hospitals in your trust that are currently outstanding as of the date of this request (29/09/22). Please state the section of the hospital the issue was recorded in (e.g. oncology, radiology) using the categorisation system in your maintenance database.
2) Please could you provide a copy of any images held (preferably in .jpeg format) and videos (preferably in .mov format) of the outstanding maintenance issues, such as leaking walls, collapsed ceilings, or temporary structural supports holding up roofs, and the date they were taken.
Any personal information (pictures of staff or patients) can of course be removed from the media under section 40.
Yours faithfully,
Yohannes

Dear FOI HHFT,
Thanks very much for your response to my request. It is much appreciated.
Could you please clarify what you mean by OPD/ ED roof, and what you mean by two year programme (is this a 2 year programme of repairs during which time the Sherborne roof will be repaired?)
For each of three identified structural issues, can you please tell me how many operations had to be cancelled or postponed because of them, telling me the type of operation affected and the date of cancellation/postponement. I appreciate this part can be treated as a new request.
Yours sincerely,
Yohannes Lowe
Dear FOI HHFT,
* You also say that 'Brinton and Nightingale roof repairs underway' - what issue are the repairs resolving?
Similarly, why do the Kingfisher Velux windows need replacing? Why does the Education centre roof need replacing?
Yours sincerely,
Yohannes Lowe

Dear Yohannes,
Thank you for your email.
We understand that you have sought the following clarification:
- You say that 'Brinton and Nightingale roof repairs underway' - what issue are the repairs resolving?
- Similarly, why do the Kingfisher Velux windows need replacing? Why does the Education centre roof need replacing?
Please see the below answer from our Estates Team:
- Brinton and Nightingale is resecuring loose tiles resulting from previous storm damage.
- The Education centre roof is end of life and leaking so the structural integrity of the corrugated roofing materials is now compromised.
- The main reason that the Velux windows are to be replaced is that they are at the end of their serviceable life and are unopenable, which results in poor temperature control for patients and staff. They do also leak at times under certain weather conditions.
We hope you find this helpful.
Kind regards
