Dear FOI Requests,
Thank you for the reply to my FOI request, however the reply is unsigned. Can you say who the author is please? As confirmed in your reply, 3 parties are involved in this scheme; 1) the wronged SPM's,2) POL who did the wrong doing, and 3) yourselves ,who for unexplained reasons will meet the claims. Clearly POL will be reassured to know you are settling claims, however SPMs who are owed money, need to know that they will be refunded-the only party that wouldn't benefit from openess in this matter is yourselves. You seem to put your interests above SPM's and POL. Whilst POL claim that since 2014 they haven't prosecuted SPMs for Horizon related losses, they still aggresively pursued SPMs to make up for losses on the system up the very recent past. As early as 2012 Shoosmiths advised you of doubts over Horizon robustness and POL prosecutions. You took no action. I respectfully point out that over a ten plus year time scale your Department has done nothing to help the plight of SPM's and suggest your turning down this request is another rebuttal. In the light of the fore-mentioned might I respectfully request an Internal Review?
Yours sincerely,
john o'sullivan

Dear FOI Requests,Thank you for a reply. You claim "the Government
continues to track the progress of the scheme closely."but in the same message state"BEIS does not hold information on the other information you have requested relating to the
individual breakdown of payments. This information is also not published."Can you please find out how many claims greater than £200,000 have been met and how many Malicious Prosecution Claims have been dealt with? You must have concerns over allowing POL to mark their own homework,Sir Wyn clearly does.
Yours sincerely,
john o'sullivan

Dear FOI Requests,Thank you for a reply and some of the information. As the Government Department funding the scheme and as you have suggested in evidence to Sir Wyn you" continue to track the scheme closely"pemit me to still ask you for information. In many ways it was your lack of oversight of POL that left them to run amok and has brought us to this Statutory Inquiry. You say you dont have information on claims greater than £2000,000.Is that because Post Office didnt supply it or you havent asked them the question. These larger sums represent the most shameful and egregious instances of the Post Office abusing its position-do they not deserve to be exposed and do you not feel an obligation to belatedly hold POL to account?
Yours sincerely,
john o'sullivan
