Thank you for contacting us on 3 February 2017 requesting Please outline
ALL grants or payments made by your department to the organisation Hope
Note Hate or its officers to the present date.

It has two divisions:

- HOPE Not Hate Educational Ltd

- HOPE Not Hate Ltd

And was previously known officially as Searchlight Educational Trust
(SET), whilst still operating as Hope not Hate publicly.

Please also outline any agreement or general understanding of what these
payments were to be used for after each allocation was made.

There has been no funding from DCLG to HOPE Not Hate Educational Ltd or
HOPE Not Hate Ltd or any of its officers since the last payment made to
Searchlight Educational Trust in March 2013.

Dear Despatch Box and Mr Lock

I note that your reply focuses upon Searchlight Educational Trust and a
last funding in the period "2012-13".

I instead asked about and DCLG funding to:

- HOPE Not Hate Educational Ltd
- HOPE Not Hate Ltd

That was only briefly legally associated with 'Searchlight Educational
Trust' in a transitional period.

The wording of your reply focused upon SET and the tangential references
to "no funding was used for the purpose of a political nature" make for an
unclear answer in my opinion.

Can you please provide me with a clear written confirmation that there has
been no funding to HOPE Not Hate Educational Ltd or HOPE Not Hate Ltd or
any of its officers since the referenced payment of £66,000 in the period
2012-2013?
