Dear Mr Henderson

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: SBLK-7KTDGN

I write in connection with your request for information received by

access to the following information:

Statistics relating to Homophobic Hate Crime.

Following receipt of your request searches were conducted within Merseyside
Police to locate information relevant to your request. I can confirm that
the information you have requested is held by Merseyside Police.

Extent of searches to locate information
To locate the information relevant to your request searches were conducted
at the Community Relations Department.

Result of searches
The searches located numerous records relevant to your request.

Decision
I have today decided to:

Disclose information to the number of recorded hate crime during from
01/04/07 to the date of your request. (Additionally the number of
homophobic hate crime 'incidents' during 2004/05, 2005/06 & 2006/07 is
attached (please see the response table for a full explanation).
Information in relation to the number of homophobic hate crimes during the
financial years 2004/05, 2005/06 & 2006/07 and the number of homophobic
hate crimes reported to the CPS during the entire time period is exempted
pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of the Freedom of Information 2000
