Dear Mr Willis,

Thank you for your request. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide you with the information you have requested; the reasons for this are set out below.

It is unlikely we hold the requested information as these types of statistics are not routinely reported to the Leicestershire Police and Crime Panel.

However, in order to be completely certain about what information is held, we would need to review previous papers / records and we have estimated that the cost of doing so exceeds the "appropriate limit" as stated in the Freedom of Information (Appropriate Limit and Fees) Regulations 2004. It is estimated that it would cost more than £450 to comply with your request.

In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 this email acts as a refusal notice under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information Act and an exemption under Section 12 of the Act is being applied.

In order to provide you with as much assistance as possible, we would like to refer you to the House of Commons Briefing Paper dated 28th October 2019 on 'Hate Crime Statistics'. This briefing paper provides a wide range of statistics on hate crimes and also provides links to other sources of data relating to hate crimes. The document can be accessed at: http://researchbriefings.files.parliamen...

Alternatively, if you are unable to find the information you are seeking within the published statistics, you may wish to contact Leicestershire Police as they may hold some or all the information you are seeking. Advice on how to make a request for information to Leicestershire Police is provided at: https://www.leics.police.uk/foi-ai/af/ac...

If you're not happy with how we've dealt with your Freedom of Information request, you can complain and ask us to review our decision. Further details are available from: http://www.leicestershire.gov.uk/about-t...

Further information about your rights to information is available from the Information Commissioner's Office at www.ico.org.uk

Kind regards,

FOI Team
Leicestershire County Council (on behalf of the Leicestershire Police and Crime Panel)
