Homeopathy
Dear NHS Haringey Clinical Commissioning Group,
Please provide me with financial information, on the amount of
public money spent on Homeopathic Medicine. In particular, I would
like to know of any expenditure on homeopathic
hospitals.
Please provide data by year, from 2005 onwards if possible for both
the points above.

Thank you for your enquiry requesting information under the Freedom of

Please find below our response to your request:
The CCG was formed on 1st April 2013 and does not hold the information
that you request before that date. From 1st April 2013, as set out in the
CCG’s Procedure of Limited Clinical Efficacy policy (POLCE), homeopathy
has not been routinely funded and no requests for it have been funded
since 1 April 2013.
The Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine (RLHIM), which is part
of University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, may have some
detail of costings of homeopathic treatment or overall spending in this
area. Please therefore refer your request to their Freedom of Information

Further to our response to your request, I now have some additional
information relating to the amount we spent for Haringey patients to
receive retreatment at Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine
(RLHIM) which is part of University College London Hospitals NHS
Foundation Trust.
I am sorry that we had not established that we could have provided this
information before, however I hope this additional information is useful
for you.
Haringey CCG was formed on 1^st April 2013 and therefore we don’t hold all
of the historical data you have requested. However we do hold data from
2012/13 onwards which I have provided below. Please note this is in
relation to the overall services and treatment provided to Haringey
patients by Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine (RLHIM) and is
not just specific to homeopathy. We do not have a breakdown of this
information that is just specific to homeopathy.
The amount we spent on this contract is as follows:
2012/13 : £ 133,602
2013/14: £ 133,151
2014/15: £ 144,454 (up until Month 9 from April 2014)
