Data not available – see above.

•       What is the average cost per night paid by the council for
temporary accommodation in each of the years from 2010-2018?

There have been changes to the number of households in TA over this period
( generally reducing) & the costs per night paid are not available for
this date range.

The cost of TA varies depending on the size of property, location, type &
ownership of the property.

For example Hotels are sometimes used for emergency placements (but
avoided where possible) - the charge for using them varies due to a number
of factors including the time of year (how busy they are), the location of
hotel & number of rooms required.

The costs for a hotel room are normally around £80/night for most hotels
used - but this can vary (as stated above).

OCC has moved to using more Council owned accommodation for TA to reduce
costs paid for leasing TA from private landlords.

Example charges for leased accommodation for  1/4/18 to 31/3/19 are as
follows:

1 bed: £25/night
2 bed: £46/night
3 bed: £57/night
4 bed: £77/night
