Thank you for your request for information above. The appropriate
department are dealing with your request, however in order to progress
with it they ask that you clarify these points:

We are able to access information in respect of financial years. Would
this be acceptable instead of calendar years (i.e. 2018/9; 2017/8 etc)?
In question 3, you refer to 'Schemes aimed at tackling homelessness'.
Please would you clarify what you are specifically trying to find out
about. The Council spends on a vast range of activities which tackle
homelessness, either directly or indirectly. It is not clear whether you
are interested specifically in rough sleepers ('visible' street
homelessness) in identifying spend, or whether you are interested in the
complete range of statutory homelessness, including help to families and
single people who are threatened with homelessness, or are in temporary
housing, but who are not physically on the streets. Examples of activities
the council spends on are:

  - direct staffing costs associated with homeless prevention advice, and
homelessness relief for families and single people;
  - direct staffing costs associated with assisting people into suitable
private sector accommodation;
  - direct staffing costs associated with placing people in temporary
accommodation whilst their needs are assessed and met;
  - costs of paying for temporary accommodation of this type;
   - grants to third party organisations specialising in homeless
prevention and relief;
  - grants to organisations providing support to homeless households, to
prepare them to sustain tenancies;
  - activities directed specifically at identifying and assisting rough
sleepers, etc etc  .

  Please be aware that we cannot progress with the request until you
respond, and that the 20 working day time frame we work within will not
include the period awaiting your response to this clarification message.
