Please accept my apologies for the delay in issuing this response.

 

The Council collects a number of figures relating to homelessness and it
is not clear exactly what information you are requesting. Please see below
for a summary of the figures we submit to central government for Lancaster
District for the last three years:

 

Jan 15 – Dec 15:

Statutory Homeless Presentations cases – 132 (households we could not
prevent homelessness)

Statutory Homeless Acceptances cases – 42 (households we had a duty to
rehouse)

Homelessness Prevention cases – 538 (households we kept in existing
accommodation or moved to alternative accommodation)

 

Jan 16 – Dec 16:

Presentations – 76

Acceptances – 58

Prevention – 518

 

Jan 17 – Dec 17:

Presentations – 109

Acceptances – 68

Prevention – 655
