Dear Orkney Islands Council,

I am writing to you to request the following information.

1) Between 2014 and 2019, a per-year breakdown of the the total number of homeless presentations to the council.
1a) Please also provide a yearly breakdown of reasons for presenting as homeless (e.g. bereavement, loss of income, family breakdown etc.)

2) For 2020, please provide a monthly (i.e. January: 10) breakdown of the total number of homeless presentations to the council.
2a) Please also provide a monthly breakdown of reasons for presenting as homeless (e.g. bereavement, loss of income, family breakdown etc.)
2b) Within this, please provide a monthly breakdowns where those presentations can be linked to deaths linked with Covid-19.

The Council is under significant pressure to deliver only essential services whilst the current social isolation measures are in place within the UK. Whilst we have a legal obligation to respond to FOIs, EIRs and SARs, we are unlikely to be able to respond at present within the normal timescales and there will inevitably be some delays. We apologise for any inconvenience, although we are sure that you will fully understand the situation.
