Homeless Applicants Re-housed

We're waiting for Mr M P Hay to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Reigate and Banstead Borough Council,

Previous FoI Request notes there to have been "Approximately 500 homelessness applications were received by this Council during the time specified."

The period specified being fiscal year 2020 up to and including 20th Dec 2020.

Can I request how many of these were re-housed by the Council during the same fiscal year up to and including 20th Dec 2020

Yours faithfully,

Mr M P Hay

Information Officer, Reigate and Banstead Borough Council

Due to the current situation with COVID-19 the majority of the Council’s
regular staffing and resources are being directed to helping our
communities and vulnerable people who are experiencing difficulties during
the pandemic.

Therefore while we focus on aiding our residents, there will be an
uncalculated delay in processing Freedom of Information, Environmental
Information and Subject Access Requests.

Accordingly, to prevent a backlog, we kindly ask you to consider
withdrawing your requests and enquiries by return email. Otherwise, we ask
for your patience and understanding during this unprecedented situation
and refer your attention to our website
[1]http://www.reigate-banstead.gov.uk/coron... we share regular
updates which may answer your questions.

Thank you for your support

Dear Mr M P Hay,

Thank you for contacting us. Please find below our response:

During the specified period, we prevented homelessness for 158 households
(i.e. positive outcome of the Prevention Duty, by either saving current
accommodation/tenancy or assisting into new) and relieved homelessness for
a further 101 households (i.e. positive outcome of the Relief Duty, by
assisting homeless households into new accommodation). We also accepted a
main homelessness duty to a further 38 households (who would therefore be
offered temporary accommodation and subsequently permanent housing in the
future).
