– we have a policy of not moving anyone outside of London (unless they

a daily, weekly or monthly basis? N/a – see question 3 above
13. Are food vouchers or any other type of support provided to the
homeless? Please provide details of support given.
The Housing Department do not give food vouchers to homeless people. The
Council funds a floating support service to support those people who are
living in all tenures of accommodation including temporary accommodation.
It also provides a number of accommodation based supported placements
which support vulnerable people including those with issues such as mental
health, drugs and alcohol, ex-offenders, learning difficulties and people
who have been rough sleeping on the streets. Supported Housing aims to
equip people with the skills to be able to successfully manage their own
accommodation. The Council also funds a crash pad which enables outreach
teams who discover a person sleeping on the streets to bring them to a
place of safety so that efforts can be made to support rough sleepers into
accommodation.
14. Are food vouchers or any other type of support provided to
Asylum Seekers? Please provide details of support given. N/a
15. What happens to homeless who exceed the maximum period of

17. Would the homeless eventually be given a council property, if so
in what time frame?
If a full duty is accepted to a homelessness applicant, this can be
discharged in a number of ways including the provision of a social housing
tenancy. The wait for social housing varies according to the size and
type of accommodation required. The average waiting times are as follows:
1 bed - 2 yrs 7 months
2 bed - 6 years 6 months
3 bed - 9 years 1 months
4 bed - 9 years 3 months
5 bed+ - 5 years 9 months
18. Would Asylum Seekers eventually be given a council property, if
so in what time frame? N/a Are you referring to former Asylum Seekers?
We are not currently assisting Asylum Seekers.
If you have any further queries, or are unhappy with how we have dealt
with your request and wish to make a complaint, please contact the
