As a Local Authority it is not our duty to provide accommodation to Asylum
Seekers, as this is provided by NASS, therefore I cannot provide the
information for Section 3/4.

a daily, weekly or monthly basis? There are various mechanisms in place
for us to keep in contact with our customer, and for us to visit them, but
our customers are not required to report to us on a specific time length
basis.

 

12.          When housed, do Asylum Seekers need to report to the council
on a daily, weekly or monthly basis? Refer to section 3.

 

13.          Are food vouchers or any other type of support provided to
the homeless?  Please provide details of support given. Food Vouchers are
provided where necessary, and this is part of a wider support service who
provide support relating to a number of issues such as tenancy
sustainment, help with accessing furniture etc.

 

14.          Are food vouchers or any other type of support provided to
Asylum Seekers?  Please provide details of support given. Refer to
section 3. 

 

15.          What happens to homeless who exceed the maximum period of
housing, in borough or out of borough? As in Section 10/11 there is no
policy in relation to this.

 

16.          What happens to Asylum Seekers who exceed the maximum period
of housing, in borough or out of borough? Refer to section 3

 

17.          Would the homeless eventually be given a council property, if
so in what time frame? If we accept a homeless duty to a customer they are
registered on our Choice Homes scheme where they are able to bid for
properties. The time frame will depend on their level of priority, the
types of properties which become available and how they choose to bid.

 

18.          Would Asylum Seekers eventually be given a council property,
if so in what time frame?
