Home Office Approved/authorised equipment
Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,
Does the BBC or any company contracted by the BBC for the purpose of carrying out any statutory functions use any surveillance/detection equipment which requires authorisation from or has been approved for use by the home office ?
If the answer to the above is yes what equipment has been used ?
Yours faithfully,
frazer molyneux

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of British Broadcasting Corporation's handling of my FOI request 'Home Office Approved/authorised equipment'.
Hi thanks for your response it does not however completely answer the question.
My question is in two parts I accept that the second part of the question in which I ask you to identify what equipment has been used falls under the exemption. I therefore do not dispute this.
However I do believe you have not answered the first part of the question specifically, confirming or denying if any of the equipment for the purposes of carrying out statutory functions is approved for use by or requires authorisation from the home office.
I believe it is a simple case of is any of the equipment approved for use by the home office ??
Does any of the equipment require authorisation by the home office before its use. ??
I hope this has clarified what I am looking for and strikes the right balance between the public interest and your need to maintain effective enforcement. I believe this would because I am not asking you to identify the specific equipment in use.
many thanks
