Sarah Whitbourn, Poole Borough Council

Dear Carla

Due to data protection we are unable to answer Question 1 - the holding
kennels are owned by the council and are kept on private land.

Question 2 - any dogs kept in are holding kennels are well looked after
and visited 3 times a day.

In the morning/afternoon/evening the duty dog warden is responsible for
cleaning the kennels/ walking any dogs held in the holding kennels and
feeding.

All dogs kept in our holding kennels are walked 3 times a day, fed twice
daily and any mess present in the kennel is cleaned.

If you feel that we have missed any information, you are entitled to
request a formal review of our response.  If you wish to do so, please
apply, in writing and in no more than 2 months of the date of this
communication, to the Corporate Complaints Officer either at the address
below or via email to [1][Poole Borough Council request email]  When applying for a

resolved to your complete satisfaction, you have the right to apply to the

contact details for the Information Commissioner on request.

Kind regards

Dear Sarah Whitbourn,

I note that you have not explained why "data protection" stops you from providing the information I requested.
Under the Act, can you specify which exemption you are relying on to withhold the information and why that exemption applies.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,

Carla Bloomfield

Steve Otter, Poole Borough Council

Dear Ms Bloomfield

Further to your request for further information relating to our response
to your Freedom of Information request dated 10 May 2015.

Firstly, I offer my sincere apologies for the delay in responding to your
request for a review of the response, this is entirely my error.

I have had the opportunity to review the response to both questions and
note that you were querying the response to question 1 in particular, so I
have concentrated on this in my review.

Your request asked for the name/s and address/es of the establishment/s to
which dogs are taken when found to be straying in your area. Our initial
response was that we were unable to release this information due to data
protection as the kennels are located at a private address.

The Council owns kennels which are located (as stated above) at a private
address in the Bearwood area of Poole and are not accessible to the
general public. I agree with the initial response that to release the
actual address would breach data protection as this is personal
information relating to the owner of the property. For this reason I
confirm that we consider the information requested in question 1 is exempt
under Section 40 of the Act.

I hope you feel that we have looked into and considered your request fully
and I apologise again for the delay in sending this response.

If you are not satisfied with this review response, you may seek an
opinion from the Information Commissioner’s Office either by telephone
0303 123 1113 or 01625 545745 or by email to [1][email address]

Yours sincerely
