HMRC's relationship with Bounty Parenting Club

The request was partially successful.

Dear HM Revenue and Customs,

I am writing to request information about HMRC's present and historic relationship with Bounty Parenting Club.

1. When did HMRC first enter into an agreement with Bounty sales reps to distribute child benefit claims forms to new parents on hospital wards? I am aware of a small-scale pilot project - how did this come about?
2. Has the nature of the contract between HMRC and Bounty remained constant over time, or have the terms of the contract changed?
3. Does this relationship currently hold (as of 2017) across all NHS Hospital Trusts, or it is specific to some regions/ trusts? Can hospitals opt out of allowing Bounty reps in their wards?
4. How much does HMRC pay Bounty annually to distribute child benefit forms and how many individuals do these forms reach?

Yours faithfully,
Sarah Stoller on behalf of FOI Central Team, HM Revenue and Customs
