Dear HM Revenue and Customs,

Section 10 Freedom of Information Act 2000

"Time for compliance with request

(1)Subject to subsections (2) and (3), a public authority must comply with section 1(1) promptly and in any event not later than the twentieth working day following the date of receipt."

The legal requirement is "PROMPTLY" with a caveat of "in any event not later than the twentieth working day following the date of receipt"

In the past, HMRC have been capable of acknowledging 100% FOIA requests via Whatdotheyknow within 1 working day of receipt, if not on the day of receipt.

What is preventing HMRC acknowledging this FOIA request in the previous timescale?

Yours faithfully,

David Baker

Corruption is still part of the HMRC mandate, detain a female for 6 weeks, threaten to take her to court. Threatened to deport a British passport holder, as ownership document not produced, say they will confiscate the goods, without a court order. A solicitor said Heathrow Customs are not contactable. Their misconduct complaints are investigated by the IPCC who also oversee police complaints. Carry on corrupt customs, no one will stop you !
