HM Treasury Stock holders

Ian Rigby made this Freedom of Information request to Her Majesty's Treasury

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Her Majesty's Treasury did not have the information requested.

Dear Her Majesty’s Treasury,

Under the FOI Act 2000, I would like to request the following information:

( 1 ) Can you provide the names of the people who were compensated with 3% Government ( or Treasury ) stock after the Bank of England was nationalised. As you know, former holders of the Bank of England Bank stock were compensated with holdings of 3% redeemable on or after 5 April 1966. The Treasury stock was designed to yield an equivalent income to the dividends they received from the Bank before it was nationalised. If you can't provide the names because some of the 3% Treasury stock has not yet been redeemed, then can you tell me the names of the people who have redeemed their stock.

Yours faithfully,

Ian Rigby.
