Dear Department of Energy and Climate Change,
With reference to the 'Historical coal data: coal production, availability and consumption 1853 to 2011' data set published on 22 Jan 2013, I would like to request information on the following:
1) the location of the coal pits (to the nearest village or town) that were closed between to 1964 and 1994
2) the name of pit that was closed
3) the reason for each pit's closure - as this will no doubt be very board and complex I am happy for the following to be assigned next to each closed pit: "ecomonic" for reasons due to efficiency savings and "natural" i.e. pit depleted of coal.
4) the number of people directly employed by each mine
Ideally, I would prefer the information to be provided in an csv format.
I look forward to hearing from you.
