Thank you for your freedom of information request received by Wirral
Borough Council in which you asked in relation to Hilbre Island - Cave
fire  and for a link to the final report.  We do apologise for the delay
in dealing with this information request

Wirral Council can confirm that there is no link to provide as there was
no final report produced.

To further assist and advise you, Wirral Council can confirm that  the
Council was prosecuted for breaches in relation to this incident by the
Marine Management Organisation MMO. The council pleaded guilty and the
outcomes were widely reported in the press and to Members. The various
warning signage and the condition of the relevant part of the island
continue to be checked and monitored.
