Dear Mr Bickerdike

I am writing to confirm that we have now completed our search for the
information, which you requested on 19 February.

“Please provide the total of all costs for the last two years' Highways
England Awards, including but not limited to their planning, promotion,
judging, organisation, hosting and relevant expenses. Separate figures are
requested for both the 2018 and 2019 events”.

A copy of the information is enclosed below.

We have analysed our records to provide the spend incurred by the relevant
area of our Business responsible for holding the HE Awards associated with
Health & Safety and Supply Chain Recognition. Please note that the 2018
awards were held as two occasions. In 2019 the Awards were combined into
one event. In 2019 the total cost (incl VAT) for venue hire, technical
support and equipment hire and food and refreshments was £53.5k. In 2018
the total cost (including VAT) for venue hire, technical support and
equipment hire and food and refreshments was £54.7k. The costs shown
excludes any internal staff costs involved in administering the events
which we cannot readily identify as this task is part of the day to day
activities of the relevant business area’s staff costs.
