Helping claimants who have deteriorated

The request was successful.

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Background:
In cases where a claimant has applied for and received their claim but since deteriorated to a point where they can no longer provide the engagement you may require (such as responding to requests for up to date bank statements) we're interested in measures you take to get around this.

FoI request: If it exists, please kindly provide a copy of your guidance to staff to handle the situation when the above takes place.

For benefits: PIP, ESA, UC.

Thanks.

Yours faithfully,

Amanda Hart
