Dear Freedom of Information Mailbox,

Thank you for your email.
The figures I am interested in are the total amounts (in £) that have been spent on adult social care health and well-being delivered by private care providers and children's social care and safeguarding delivered by private care providers. In both cases that is providers who are not owned and run by the NHS and/or local authority.
Just totals with be sufficient. I do not need the figure broken down any further.
Thank you.
Yours sincerely,

Joseph Walsh

Dear Freedom of Information Mailbox,

Thank you for the second spreadsheet. However this is identical to the first one you provided in that is does not show which figures relate to care delivered by Local Authority/NHS providers and private sector providers.
Please update the information showing which figures relate to what type of provider.

Thank you
Yours sincerely,
Joseph Walsh

Freedom of Information Mailbox, Buckinghamshire County Council

Good morning

The figures provided on the spreadsheet are for 'gross expenditure
excluding local authorities and NHS'. This is in response to your request,
which asked;

Of the 2019/20 budget of £356.3m you state that 39% (£139m) was allocated
to “Adult social care, health & wellbeing” and 22% (£78.3m) was allocated
to “Children’s social care and safeguarding”. Of these figures how much
(in £) was spent with private companies and/or outsourced private
providers?

You then provided a clarification;

The figures I am interested in are the total amounts (in £) that have been
spent on adult social care health and well-being delivered by private care
providers and children's social care and safeguarding delivered by private
care providers. In both cases that is providers who are not owned and run
by the NHS and/or local authority.

We currently believe we have provided the information requested, but if
you can tell us what additional information you feel is missing from our
response then I can investigate further.

Kind regards

Amy
