Healthcare Professional

Health Professions Council did not have the information requested.

Dear Health Professions Council,

If a qualified Healthcare Professional no longer delivers any healthcare but alternatively and exclusively carries out medical assessments on behalf of a government agency, despite no longer having an active role in the delivery of care would they

a) be able to retain the title of a Healthcare Professional and

b) be entitled to be registered with your organisation?

Yours faithfully,

Mr B Adams

Health Professions Council

Health Professions Council

Dear Mr Adams

Thank you for your e-mail of 18 June.

Your e-mail seems to be asking for advice on a hypothetical situation,
rather than asking for recorded information under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000.

In order for your request to be considered under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000, you may wish to consider re-phrasing your request to
ask for recorded information. Please call me on 020 7840 9710 if you need
assistance with this.

In order to assist you, I can tell you that the Health Professions Council
currently regulates 15 professions and protects a number of professional
titles, which are listed on our website at this page:

[1]http://www.hpc-uk.org/aboutregistration/...

We do not protect the title of "Healthcare professional", a term which
could also cover people working in medicine, nursing and dentistry. These
professions are regulated by different regulators.

Yours sincerely
