Following your request for information we received on 18^th December
 2019, Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust are pleased to respond as
below.

 

 

1.                   How many staff do you currently employ to undertake
RTT validation tasks?

We do not employ any Clinical Coders

 

2.                   How many more permanent or temporary staff are
expected to be needed over the next 12 months?

We currently do not have any plans to employ any in the near future.

 

3.                   How many open RTT pathways do you have currently? RTT
- Referral to Treatment.

 

The Trust do not report on RTT performance as this applies to the acute
Trusts and not to mental health trusts.

 

4.                   How many staff do you currently employ to undertake
clinical coding validation tasks?

We do not employ any Clinical Coders

 

5.                   How many more permanent or temporary staff are
expected to be needed over the next 12 months? We currently do not have
any plans to employ any in the near future.

 

6.                   Do you operate and utilise a live bed state system?

Has your organisation implemented any centralised or 24 hour bed
management process, or have an automatic electronic utilisation data
capture solution. If so, which processes or solutions are in use?

 

The Trust’s EPR system has a live summary bed state position.  A Bed State
Dashboard with key information on demand and capacity has been developed
which is refreshed hourly.  This Dashboard is used by the Site
Coordinators and senior staff to manage the Trust’s bed base. 

 

7.                   What is the name, job title, and department contact
email address of the primary decision maker for change control of the bed
state process?

Adele McKay, Divisional Director for Acute Community Unit. Email address:

8.                   How many Urgent Care/Emergency Department staff have
access to the spine lookup and validation service to verify demographics
at the point of patient registration?

       All C&I hospital liaison staff have access to the national spine -
when they log in with their smartcards to Carenotes.

 

9.                   In terms of urgent care/emergency dept staff - can HR
provide the total number of WTE Liaison (Whittington, UCLH, RFH and CRT
staff (ICRT, SCCRT, CRT).
