If it is not possible to provide the information requested due to the information exceeding the cost of compliance limits identified in Section 12, please provide advice and assistance, under the Section 16 obligations of the Act, as to how I can refine my request.

If you can identify any ways that my request could be refined please provide further advice and assistance to indicate this.

If you have any queries please don’t hesitate to contact me via email and I will be happy to clarify what I am asking for.

Dear Department of Health and Social Care,

I write in reference to my previous FOI request FOI-1141400.

Please may you conduct an internal review of the decision not to reply within 20 working days of the request being made.

I am asking for an internal review because of the following reasons:
The legislation requires public bodies to respond within 20 working days of a request. Queries to FOIs should be prompt and do not reset the clock.

I am aware that guidance from the Information Commissioner, in ‘The Guide to Freedom of Information’, says that internal reviews should (in most cases) be completed within 20 working days.

I look forward to receiving your response in line with the Commissioner’s guidance.

Yours faithfully,

M Morrison

Department of Health and Social Care

Dear Mr Morrison,

Thank you for your request of 13 August 2018 under the Freedom of
Information Act (Ref: FOI-1145094).

I am writing to inform you that the Department's consideration of the
balance of the public interest with regards to your request is not yet
complete, and requires further time to complete in line with Section 10(3)
of the FOI Act.

The Department is currently assessing the public interest in release under
Section 35(1)(a) the formulation or development of government policy.

We anticipate this process will take no longer than a further 20 working
days to complete.  We therefore aim to respond fully to your request by 9
October 2018.

Please accept my apologies for this delay.

Yours sincerely

Edward Franklyn
Freedom of Information Officer
