The request was successful.

Dear Her Majesty’s Treasury,
I am making a FOI:

I would like to know if:
1) The Bills of exchange act 1882 is still in force or has it been repealed/revoked. and:
2) The consumer credit Act 1974 is this still in force or has it been repealed/revoked.
clarification is requested thank you.

Yours faithfully,

HM Treasury (and others) often use the line "we can not give legal advice" in response to Requests like this. Or, "HM Treasury does not hold any recorded information on the subject" (which is probably true).

I do know that The Bills of Exchange Act 1882 remains in force. I am certain that The Consumer Credit Act has likewise not been repealed (subject to a few amendments and a few sections / schedules having been repealed - mainly due to changes in the name of Regulators).

I wish you luck in your quest.
