Dear Information Compliance West Mercia,
By point 2, I mean offences on which somebody was the victim of a crime, whether it be verbal or physical or something else, on the basis of the nationality, so a xenophobic crime, differing from point 1 about crimes to do with people's race
Yours sincerely,
Max Banner
Dear Information Compliance West Mercia,
Regarding Point 2, I mean a crime that somebody committed on the basis of the victim's nationality... basically the same as Point 1 but on the basis of their nationality instead of race. i.e because they were from a different country.
Yours sincerely,
Max Banner

REPLY: Please be advised that hate crimes are recorded through the use of
markers on crimes rather than to categorise them specifically as hate
crimes. Please see the tables provided for all offences where the offence
had a marker applied for a racial hate crime in the event aggravating
factor field in Crimes recorded from 24th June - 30th September for the
years 2005 to 2016. To provide a complete picture of hate crime in this
period, 'crimed' incidents have also been provided, which are incidents
where the circumstances do not amount to a notifiable crime but are
recorded on the crime recording system for the purposes of building an
intelligence picture around the nominals involved. Crimed incidents data
also have markers held in the event description field.
