Hate Crime Reporting for Race and Religion - January to October 2016

This request has been withdrawn by the person who made it. There may be an explanation in the correspondence below.

Dear Metropolitan Police Service (MPS),

I note your response to a previous FOI request: “Freedom of Information Request Reference No: 2016100000292” and your comment therein that “most of the increase is for non violent offences” and that “many of these non-violent offences present less evidential opportunities”

My request:

For the following Met categories within that data:

Anti-Semitic Offs
Faith Hate Crime Offs
Islamophobic Offs
Racist Hate Crime Offs
Racist and Religious Hate Crime Offs

Please indicate:

- Severity Levels (injury, loss or damage to property, verbal etc) held within your system and according to your internal classification methods

- The source of the reporting - at a police station; via TrueVision; by telephone; by other third party*

- What percentage of reports were either anonymous or did not provide sufficient contact information for follow up – perhaps the contact details were incorrect

If this request is still within your funding constraints please also indicate the number proceeded against to avoid supplementary requests.

* I note an MPS response to another historical FOI request suggested that data on the numbers of “third party reporting” is not separately noted on the database and would have to be manually retrieved exceeding cost prohibitions. If this is still the case, please advise me but IGNORE this for the purposes of this request. Please though CONTINUE to advise on the data for True Vision and do not ignore this as part of this overall request.

Yours faithfully,

Stephen Green
