Harlaxton works along Guided Busway and safety of the public

The request was partially successful.

Dear Cambridgeshire County Council,

I am concerned that, while assurances were given to the public that the Guided Busway maintenance track would be available for use during works, this has proven not to be the case.

The following requests are with regard to the works for UK Power Networks undertaken by Harlaxton along the Guided Busway route and bridleway between Longstanton and Cambridge. Please provide in a searchable (as much as reasonably possible) digital format (PDF or plain text):

1) The Risk Assessment Method Statement, any other risk assessments or safety audits, and the Equality Impact Assessments that pertain to the access and safety of people walking and cycling along the Busway maintenance track during the works.

2) The Risk Assessment Method Statement, any other risk assessments or safety audits, the Equality Impact Assessments and the diversion plans that pertain to the safety of people walking and cycling who are forced to divert from the Busway maintenance track when it is impassable.

3) Details of the signage and diversion plans that Cambridgeshire County Council approved for people walking and cycling along the Busway maintenance track during the works.

4) The signs posted include "Cyclist dismount"; please confirm whether that wording was approved for use by Cambridgeshire County Council.

5) The signs posted include "Cyclists for your safety and the workforce's please dismount we all have families"; please confirm whether that wording was approved for use by Cambridgeshire County Council.

6) The scheduled end date of works and any known changes to that end-date.

7) E-mails, letters and other correspondence during 2019 between Harlaxton and Cambridgeshire County Council.

Yours faithfully,

Matthew Danish

FOI, Cambridgeshire County Council
