Ed Dawson, Halton Borough Council

Dear Mr Owen

Many thanks for your request below under the Freedom of Information Act,
the answers to which are as follows;

Q1. What amount of money is involved in the loan or loans made to Halton
Borough Transport by Halton Council approved by the Councillors. Can dates
be given for when approved.

A1. The Council approved the granting of a commercial loan to Halton
Borough Transport Limited on 10^th July 2019. This approval was granted
within part 2 of the agenda as the report is exempt information under the
Local Government Act 1972 due to commercial reasons. The information
requested cannot therefore be provided.

Q2. What amount of money is required from Halton Council in winding up the
company.

A2. There is no amount of money required from Halton Borough Council in
order to wind-up Halton Borough Transport Limited. The Council has certain
amounts currently outstanding with Halton Borough Transport Limited, which
the Liquidator will consider along with all other Creditors as part of the
liquidation process.

Q3. What amount is the value of the approx. 68 buses. Are all the buses
serviceable.

A3. The Council does not hold this information as it would be held by
Halton Borough Transport Limited. However, as indicated within the
Company’s published accounts the majority of the buses are subject to
leasing arrangements and are not therefore owned by the Company.

Q4. What if any, building and or land assets remain with Halton Council in
servicing its loan or loans.

A4. The Council holds a charge against all of Halton Borough Transport
Limited’s assets.

Many thanks

Ed Dawson
