 RESPONSE 
  
South Wales Police do not have a single SPOC for en
 
gagement with Gypsies and Travellers but we do have individual 
 officers within our Basic Command Units who are nominated to act as local SPOCs for their area of responsibility. We 
also have a Community Engagement Officer who links in with these communities’ 
 
The force does not have a specific role profile for these posts but their programme of work involves engaging with 
minority communities and hard to reach groups, understanding their needs, supporting the delivery of a policing 
response to them by all parts of the force, and thereby building trust and confidence across those communities in our
