Guidance on Universal Credit Fraud

The request was successful.

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

I request that DWP disclose any policy and guidance documents relating to fraud in Universal Credit, particularly the current spate of frauds carried out by third parties.

I wish to see the internal DWP guidance which I understand is titled 'Attempted Fraud Linked to UC'.

I would also like to see any other policy/ guidance relating to:

Third-party fraud (or whatever title DWP gives this form of fraud)

Procedure for checking UC claims for potentially fraudulent or abusive elements, such as fictional children with absurd, obscene or insulting names

Procedure for dealing with claimants who present as victims of third-party fraud

Criteria for requiring claimants to attend Interview Under Caution when they are victims of third-party fraud

Criteria for applying an Administrative Penalty where the claimant is a victim of third-party fraud

Yours faithfully,

Andrew Dutton
